Bringing VOB files into Final Cut Pro X by Transcoding VOB to ProRes that works natively within FCP

Summary: How to Convert VOB to Apple ProRes 422 for FCP (X) Editing? Just follow the guideline below, you can convert and import VOB files to FCP X easily and successfully with Brorsoft Video Converter for Mac. That’s most of my problems solved, and I hope other people’s too.

Once you have tried to import VOB to FCP to edit the movies, you may find that VOB is not recognized by FCP. Why?

VOB is basically a MPEG-2 video file which is stored in Video_TS folder in a DVD. As this kind of video file usually contains one or several audio tracks and subtitle tracks that are multiplexed together into one stream form, it is not so easy to playback directly on PC or Mac. If you need to import VOB video files to FCP, you can turn to Brorsoft Video Converter for Mac to convert VOB files to FCP supported ProRes format first.
